Southport Interconnection Project
Award Date: October 2014
Engineer: Dirigo Engineering
Owner: Boothbay Region Water District
Crooker Construction, LLC was contracted for the installation of 6,745 linear feet of new PVC pressure water main split between Route 27 in Boothbay Harbor/Southport, Route 238 and other town roads in Southport. The project also included a new water main crossing of the Townsend Gut between Boothbay Harbor and Southport. Due to Maine’s rocky coast, it was necessary to blast over 1300 CY of ledge in order to get the new water main below the frost line. Crooker fought with tough conditions all winter, but completed the work on time and on budget.
